Motor driven external protein skimmer for aquaria with a volume of 250 - 1250 gallons
The 5000 series protein skimmers have been developed for larger aquaria. Just like the smaller models, they feature venturi pumps which include a patented needle wheel for optimal mixing of the air and water. The reaction cylinder has a diameter of 8 inches. Above the cylinder, the patented conical foam cup improves the production of foam. The inlets and outlets of the skimmer are designed to ensure an extensive contact time for the air bubbles within the counter-current. To supply the skimmer with water, a separate pump with a capacity of 500 - 1000 gph, e.g. Ocean Runner 3500, is needed.
